Sacramento, CA
Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler spoke with California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon following calls to strip the University of California of its constitutional independence following a scathing audit.
The auditor reported an undisclosed $175 million reserve budget from the UC president's office. This comes shortly after the UC raised tuition for its students.
Despite calls from Assembly Republicans to subpoena documents from UC President Janet Napolitano's office, Rendon appears what Adler described as "reluctant to take such a far-reaching step."
We hear the interview with Adler and Rendon on Insight.
