President Obama’s third Supreme Court nominee Chief Judge Merrick Garland is meeting with Senate Democrats this week and hoping to meet with Senate Republicans, too. But who is Chief Judge Merrick Garland?

We’ll talk with two local law professors about the man selected to replace Justice Antonin Scalia. First, UC Davis Law Professor Albert Lin who clerked for Judge Garland on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Then, McGeorge School of Law Professor John Sims will speak about Chief Judge Garland’s path to the highest court in the land and past nominees who faced an uphill partisan battle for confirmation.
