Sacramento, CA
A small Northern California town could see its water source cut completely as a battle with a timber company continues to grow.
Roseburg Forest Products has the rights to Mt. Shasta’s Beaughan Spring in Weed California.
The company has raised the price on the lease by $100,000 and told the town it needs to find an alternative water source.
Weed Mayor Ken Palfini has been placed in the middle of this battle and faces a very difficult decision – take Roseburg to court or pursue an alternative water source by drilling. He joins us now by phone from Weed.
