Singer-songwriter and Broadway veteran Ann Hampton Callaway is highly regarded in jazz circles and specializes in singing classics from the Great American Songbook by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Rogers & Hart among many others. “For sheer vocal beauty, no contemporary singer matches Ms. Callaway,” wrote a reviewer from The New York Times.

Callaway's recordings have included jazz luminaries Wynton Marsalis and Kenny Barron, and her songs have been recorded by the likes of Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli and Michael Feinstein. She is perhaps best know for her starring role in Broadway’s hit musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme to the internationally successful television series, The Nanny.

Tonight Callaway will perform a benefit concert for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. 

She joins us on Insight to talk about the art of cabaret singing, her role in the benefit recording of Broadway For Orlando, and the song that people stop her on the street to talk about, her original theme from The Nanny.
