John C. Hampsey is an English Professor at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and the author of more than thirty published stories and essays.  His memoir, "Kaufman's Hill" takes us to a time just before the impact of the counter-culture movement and a place where the suburbs were a new frontier. This is Hampsey's boyhood outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the early 1960's, described as "touching, sensitive and spell-binding."
