Sacramento, CA
Budget cuts in 2009 left many undocumented immigrants in Sacramento County without specialty care, medication, lab tests or hospitalization. Now the Board of Supervisors is considering whether to restore some of those services. In today’s News Network, we’ll hear from Capital Public Radio’s healthcare reporter Pauline Bartolone about what new benefits might look like and how it will affect county residents.
This is part of Undocumented Immigration in California: A Year-Long Initiative devoted to examining one of the most important and polarizing issues of our time. Our goal is to create a body of work that will enlighten and advance the conversation in California and beyond.
