Drought Effects on Health It sounds almost beyond obvious to say a drought is not good for us. But the truth is, most of us probably don’t really know all the ways it can be “not good,” including some direct effects on our health. Dr. Linda Rudolph is the co-director of the Center for Climate Change and Health at the Public Health Institute and she’s been warning about some of those unexpected problems that could be coming. We'll talk with her about her research and what some of those ill effects might be.
"50 Years Of Hemingway Criticism" Peter Hays, an emeritus professor still teaching at UC Davis (and Sacramento resident) has a new book out, collecting essays about Ernest Hemingway that Hays has written over the past 50 years. We’ll talk with Hays about “Fifty Years of Hemingway Criticism.”
News Network Sochi Insight host Beth Ruyak got a pretty good surprise birthday present from her family last week -- they sent her to Sochi, Russia to witness this year’s Winter Olympics. Beth has covered five Olympics during her career and is what you might call an Olympics enthusiast, so it’s been difficult for her to just enjoy these games as a spectator. She’ll join us this morning for News Network to talk about what she’s seen so far and how area athletes are faring in the 2014 competition.
