Chris Felts
Production Assistant & Fill-In News Host
Chris or, as he’s known around the station, CJ, has grown up in the Sacramento area for most of his life and has always called this city home. He discovered his passion for being creatively and technically minded when he was in high school and joined his high school theater program where he was a ‘techie.’ From grip work and set design to light and sound board operation, even appearing in a play once, he always loved seeing a show come together.
As many high school graduates do, he struggled to find his path at first. One summer he heard an ad on the radio inviting him to apply for an internship at Entercom. Chris grew up listening to CapRadio and other morning talk shows so it seemed like an interesting experience just for the summer. That internship is what drove him to pursue a career in radio. After attending Cosumnes River College for his general education, he transferred to San Francisco State University where he majored in Broadcast Electronic Communications Arts. There he spent his time producing and hosting shows with the student-run radio station, KSFS. This experience showed him the power of radio and cemented his desire to serve his community through his passions.
Chris is now at CapRadio where he, in addition to hosting evening breaks, assists with production related projects and engineers CapRadio’s daily news show, Insight with Vicki Gonzalez. When not at the radio station, Chris is an avid reader as well as a hobby photographer.
