Annual Sacramento R&B festival Sol Blume announced both its 2024 artist lineup this week and that it would be expanding from two to three days this year.
Last year’s iteration of the event focused on non-male acts, featuring Ella Mai and Jessie Reyez. This year, performers include Grammy winner SZA, KAYTRAMINÉ (artists KAYTRANADA and Aminé performing as a duo), Snoh Aalegra and Sacramento’s own Nate Curry.
SZA released her much anticipated second studio album “SOS” in December 2022 to high critical acclaim. She’s also currently nominated for nine more Grammy Awards, after having won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2022 for her song with Doja Cat “Kiss Me More.”
Sacramento’s Nate Curry isn’t the only local artist in this year’s lineup. Harris Rudman, a Sacramento State alumni, and Karri, a San-Francisco born musician, are also scheduled to perform.
Twenty-two year old British singer and producer PinkPanthress is listed as a performer at the festival. She was scheduled as a headliner for the 2023 iteration of the event, but pulled out last-second “due to unforeseen circumstances,” event organizers said. PinkPanthress recently released her first studio album “Heaven Knows.”
Last year’s iteration of Sol Blume was initially scheduled for mid-April 2023, but was rescheduled after back-to-back atmospheric rivers soaked the Sacramento region and flooded Discovery Park, where the festival takes place. It was moved to August 2023 and welcomed over 46,000 attendees, event organizers said.
Sol Blume will also go from two to three days this year, held between May 3 and 5. General passes go on sale on Feb. 5 at 10 a.m.
