There are many kinds of separation that can take place. Author Reyna Grande has written about this in her new memoir, "A Dream Called Home." The book is a sequel to her earlier memoir, "The Distance Between Us." Grande was separated from her parents in Mexico as a child. And at nine and a half, she ran across the U.S. border, becoming undocumented.
Grande’s conversation with host, Beth Ruyak, took place on Valentine’s Day. They talked about the challenge of loving yourself when you have had to live through early distance or separation from your parents.
