On election night, the Associated Press called a Central Valley congressional race for Republican Congressman David Valadao. The margin appeared to the analysts to be a clear win for the Republican who has won previously, even though more voters are Democrats in the district.
But earlier this week as provisional ballots continued to be counted, his Democratic challenger TJ Cox came into the lead by 436 votes. And then yesterday his lead grew a by another 70 votes and Cox declared victory.
CapRadio Podcast Producer Sally Schilling, who has worked extensively on our Keys to the House podcast, tells us more about the race and what it could mean.
