If you’d like to get a head start on some less-than-serious summer reading, Catriona McPherson’s latest book “Scot Free” is a good bet.

The first in a new mystery series, “Scot Free” introduces readers to Lexy Campbell, a Scottish-born marriage counselor whose own American dream quickly turns into a nightmare. After following falling in love with a dentist and following him back to California, Lexy finds herself divorced, homeless and stuck in the middle of a divorce that’s gone bang.

McPherson joins Insight guest host Randol White in studio to talk about the inspiration behind her latest heroine and what she has planned for the future.
