The new Chancellor at the University of California, Davis has been on the job for a week. And it's a big job that comes with some baggage.
Gary May is following in the wake of Linda Katehi, the former chancellor who had an embattled tenure at UC Davis. She was forced to resign last August, after an investigation into her leadership, her management and her positions and compensation from outside boards.
May joined Beth Ruyak in studio for a conversation about his plans future of the university.
The Chancellor says his first task is to step out of the shadow of his predecessor.
"Well at first, I thought some of the media had gotten the wrong picture of the chancellor on their front page," May said. "I thought maybe we forgot to send them a picture of me. I'm very interested in moving forward and looking to the future and turning the page."
