Anna-Marie McLemore is a Sacramento-based writer whose work has been featured by The Portland Review and Camera Obscura. She’s celebrating the release of her debut young adult novel, "The Weight of Feathers," this weekend at Face in a Book in El Dorado Hills. Insight talks with her about her family history – she grew up in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains – and how it and her heritage have expressed themselves in her writing.
