Siblings Connor and Karlee Hormell took a trip to New Zealand together that inspired their music project called me&you.
“We spent the whole summer in the mountains working on a lot of demos from stuff that we had written in New Zealand,” Karlee says.
They shared the demos with friends and contacts in Los Angeles until it got into the hands of Lord Huron producer Ben Tolliday.
“It’s like a dream come true to us,” she said.
Connor has taken over his parents’ pool house and converted it into a studio. “I’ve slowly just started moving my parents’ stuff out of there, and moving my stuff in, seeing how slow I can do it so they don’t notice,” he says.
They stopped by the Insight studio in December before a hometown show to perform the title track from their forthcoming debut, “Chasing Trails E.P.”
