Holiday Specials Celebrating Homegrown Jazz And The Original Home Of Jazz

  
On this special holiday edition of Excellence in Jazz we present two one-hour specials along with our regular assortment of great jazz by jazz greats.  At 7 p.m. enjoy A CapRadio Christmas: Home For The Holidays, hosted by vocalist (and Insight substitute host) Beth Duncan. We'll present holiday tunes performed by Joe Gilman, Jacam Manricks, Vivian Lee, Jim Martinez, Tom Peron and other outstanding jazz artists who live right here in the Sacramento region. Plus we get to hear a few tunes featuring Beth in a duet with Sacramento guitar legend Steve Homan. Then at 9 p.m. EIJ host Devan Kortan takes you to the birthplace of jazz for a Crescent City Christmas celebration featuring performances by Wynton Marsalis, Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller and others.
