John Adams conducts Respighi and his own composition, Scheherazade.2, dedicated to women who fight for their freedom and rights in today's Syria, Iran and Afghanistan.

Adams wrote the piece specifically for violinist Leila Josefowicz and says, "I find Leila a perfect embodiment of that kind of empowered strength and energy that a modern Scheherazade would possess."
