German composer Max Bruch said that his 3rd symphony is essentially a tribute to his native Rhineland area in Germany. He even wrote in a letter that it should have the title, ”On the Rhine.” Bruch’s symphonic love letter, his Symphony #3, is today’s Midday Masterpiece at 2:00 pm.
