Yuba City High School teacher Jim Whiteaker, who was the subject of several sexual misconduct complaints and two lawsuits, has resigned.
Yuba City Unified School District released a statement that the two parties "have resolved their dispute concerning Mr. Whiteaker’s continued employment with the District and Mr. Whiteaker has resigned."
Whiteaker was with the school as a teacher and coach for 20 years. In January, a student claimed he grabbed her by buttocks.
Other former female students then came forward to allege he had touched them or otherwise behaved inappropriately toward them while they were in school.
Whiteaker is also a Sutter County supervisor.
A recall effort to unseat him failed after the assault allegations came to light.
His term as supervisor expires in 2020 and he has previously stated he will not run again.
