Noisy neighbors, water wasters, illegal fireworks: just some of the things people in Yuba City can now report using the YC311 app.
The app is available from a computer or smart phone.
Terrell Locke is with the City. She says it's an improvement over the old system, which the City tried for a couple of years.
"It wasn't very user friendly," Locke says. "So, we upgraded to YC311 and have been really promoting it and training our employees to use it."
Residents must provide a name and phone number, but can remain anonymous while posting a report on the site.
Some phones will ask for access to your microphone and camera, but the city says that is only for people to send information and that the city has no way to access people's phones without their knowledge.
The City paid the company CitySourced $3,000 to start the app and pays $9,600 each year.
The City says about 2,000 people are now using the app.
