Mather Veterans Village is the first permanent supportive housing for homeless and disabled veterans in the Sacramento region.
The complex includes 50 apartments, a kitchen and lounge area and a computer lab. The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency helped 25 veterans with vouchers for the homes.
More than 92,000 veterans live in the Sacramento region. Sacramento County has the 10th most homeless veterans in the state.
Federal, state, and local agencies contributed funding for the project, as did Home Depot and Wells Fargo.
You can watch a time-lapse video of the project as it was built here.
