For the first time in three years, the leader of the California State University system spent a day on the Sacramento State campus.
Chancellor Tim White is visiting every CSU site this school year as part of an "innovation tour."
"One of the things at Sac State that I see is a new energy -a found energy- to think about things -how our students are going to learn in the future and the kinds of jobs and careers they might have," White says. "So, they're doing things in things that really matter."
According to Sacramento State President Robert Nelsen, it's important to have a visit from the chancellor.
"Getting him on our campus lets him see who our students our, what our students need, helps us get the resources that we need," Nelsen says. "And when it comes to the legislature, he's able to personalize the stories."
White toured the school's storm-water-management sites and its research center for the study of energy, food, water and waste.
Sacramento State is the 19th of 23 CSU campuses White has visited this school year.
