A Caltrans project on northbound Interstate 5 at Airport Boulevard could impact travel times, according to Caltrans.
The project begins April 19 and will last approximately 30 days as crews lengthen the auxiliary lane and ramp to the Sacramento International airport.
There will be lane restrictions on northbound I-5 approaching the airport. Also, the off ramp will be closed from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. on April 19 to 21.
Those driving to the airport will have to follow a six-mile detour during closure hours. Travelers are advised to add about 30 minutes to their drive to the airport.
According to Caltrans, additional delays are expected during daytime work as construction traffic travels in and out of the work zone.
