Ten days after a Grant Union High School football player was killed and a teammate was injured by gunfire, the Sacramento Police Department continues to ask for anyone with information to step forward.
"You see some community folks putting out rewards and that's been fantastic," says Sam Somers, Sacramento's Chief of Police. "We're working really close with the community on seeing what we can do. We got the mayor involved. The mayor's put out our message, trying to generate it. But, at the end of the day, the way this case is gonna really break is if we get the community to step up and gives us some information."
J.J. Clavo was on the Grant football team and was in a car full of teammates on their way back to school for a pre-game meeting when someone started shooting.
Investigators say the players did not see the person who fired the shots.
