An independent review of the Sacramento City College and Los Rios Community College District's response September 3rd of this year to an on-campus shooting was “unacceptable” because of the time it took to alert students, staff and faculty.
An investigation by a retired FBI agent, who had been hired as a consultant by the district, found the delay was caused by human error and lack of familiarity with the warning system.
But, the investigation found the delay “contributed to nothing more than uncertainty relative to this incident.”
The report also says that, overall, Los Rios and Sacramento Community College have an emergency response plan that is “more than acceptable.”
