The Midtown Business Association said Friday that it will be raising money for a reward fund to help Sacramento Police find those responsible in the stabbbing attack against Stone. The group says it will match up to $3,500 to help generate tips for investigators.
Those who would like to contribute to the fund can drop off checks at the Midtown Farmers Market Information desk Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the MBA office at 919 20th Street. Checks should be made out to "Midtown Business Association."
Original Post: Sacramento Police continue to search Friday for the men suspected of stabbing Airman First Class Spencer Stone in a brawl outside a midtown Sacramento bar.
Stone was one of three local men hailed as heroes for helping to tackle a gunman on a French train in August.
Stone was rushed to a level one trauma center at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento where he was treated for three stab wounds to his torso.
"He'll have close observation in our ICU until he's determined to be not of a serious nature and then at some point his care could be downgraded," says Dr. J. Douglas Kirk, chief medical officer for the medical center.
Kirk says the medical care team expects Stone to make a full recovery.
The Air Force has created a new address for the public to email Spencer Stone. It's "[email protected].
