A custodian discovered two explosive devices on a Roseville middle school campus Friday morning. One exploded.
The Roseville Police Department says the custodian at Warren T Eich Middle School was not injured when a water bottle containing household chemicals exploded near him at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.
Dee Dee Gunther, with the Roseville Police Department, says an officer was assigned to stay at the school throughout the day as a precaution.
"We are calling all the schools just to let them know what to look for and have their custodians keep a special eye out," says Gunther. "If you see a water bottle and it's got strange, unusual stuff inside of it, it's best to leave it where it is and call police and have officers check it out."
The Roseville-Rocklin bomb squad disabled the other device.
Gunther says the combination of chemicals could have burned anyone who was close to the explosion.
