Sacramento SPCA CEO Rick Johnson says there have been as many as ten reported incidents of severe animal cruelty in Sacramento County in the last few months.
"People that do this, history has shown that they oftentimes then move on to humans," says Johnson. "I mean it's bad enough... I mean it's horrific to do this to an animal, but it certainly has law enforcement on their toes because they too want to find the individuals that are doing this."
Johnson says the SPCA has received donations from people and organizations all over the state and expects more to come.
