Trash-collection days are changing this week in the city of Roseville. More than 30,000 customers will be effected.
Devin Whittington manages the solid waste division for the City of Roseville. He says more efficient driver routes will save the city at least $350,000 per year for the next five years.
"The city is starting to grow and instead of us bringing on new resources and equipment which would increase our costs, we decided to use our current equipment and current personnel and just reroute the city."
The change is expected to cost a little more than $100,000 to implement.
Most green waste pickup dates will also change. The City picks up green waste once every two weeks and trash and recycling once a week.
The change affects about 80-percent of the city's residential customers.
The City has a new app that reminds customers of the new dates.
Business customers and the City's leaf collection program will not be affected.
