(AP) -- Some of the more than 1,000 people who evacuated because of a fast-moving wildfire have returned to their homes near Yosemite National Park in California.
Madera County Sheriff John Anderson says, "We're not seeing the fire expand like we thought."
He says the one-square-mile blaze is now 35 percent contained.
Fire officials had previously thought the fire had been twice that size.
Meanwhile, investigators in Nevada are still trying to figure out what caused a wildfire that burned more than 80 acres just west of Reno before fire crews fully contained it near Boca Dam, north of Interstate 80. No injuries or structure damage was reported.
