Three people are vying to represent the City of Sacramento's District 7.
Abe Snobar is a private contractor and former teacher. He says the person elected to represent the district must pay particular attention to improving the poorer areas first.
He says Valley Hi education, neighborhood and retail environments must be strengthened before the new Delta Shores development creates a further divide between the "haves" and the "have nots."
Retired Sacramento Fire Chief Julius Cherry is running on a platform of improving city services. He says the City could have worked a better arena deal with the Sacramento Kings.
His campaign slogan is: "I'm not the Mayor's favorite candidate, but, I'd like to be yours."
Rick Jennings worked for Mayor Johnson at St. Hope Public Charter School System. Jennings says he is focused on providing education and community services to help children escape the cycle of poverty.
