The utility will hand out up to three strands of LED lights to any customer who brings incandescent lights to be recycled.
Raena Kinsella is with Roseville Electric. She says there are big advantages to making the switch to LED:
"They're 90% more efficient than the traditional incandescent Christmas lights that we're all kind of used to, and some people are really attached to their incandescent bulbs and they don't want to give them up and this is a way for them to try them out - you know, free. It's a no-risk trial."
This is the fourth year that Roseville Electric has given LED lights away. Kinsella says this weekend is usually a busy one, and the utility expects to give away all 3,000 strands well before Christmas.
