Sunday's event marks the Kings' second annual Rhythm 'N Rims to raise money for 14 community groups including: Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento; Society for the Blind; and Sacramento Habitat for Humanity.
"Last year we raised about $165,000 and our goal is to beat that this year," says Debbie Gabelich the Kings' director of Corporate Relations and Social Responsibility.
Activities include a 5-K walk in the morning, music, food and autograph sessions with players. Gabelich says the highlight will be an exhibition game.
"We are erecting a stadium in the middle of Capitol Mall, it will seat 3,000 people, it has never been done before," says Gabelich.
All these activities will require some street closures starting as soon as today and ending Sunday afternoon around the mall. The closures will affect 8th, 9th, L and N streets.
You can see a map of the street closures under "Related Resources" on the right side of this page.
