The Kings will open the season October 30 against the Denver Nuggets, which will give Kings' new general manager Pete D'Alessandro a chance to see how his new club compares to his old club. D'Alessandro was hired away from Denver in the offseason.
In the first 20 games, the Kings will play Portland, Phoenix and Detroit a total of five times. The other 15 games are against teams with winning records last year. Of those, only Utah failed to make the playoffs.
The new year could be kind to the team. The Kings will play five straight home games against clubs with losing records last year: Philadelphia, Charlotte, Portland, Orlando, and Cleveland.
Fifty of the 82 games on the schedule are against teams with winning records in 2012-13.
Sacramento plays at least six nationally televised games -one on ESPN, and five on NBATV.
